This is no silly or "bad" question, please feel free to ask anything you can think of. We are here to support you in your journey to feeding your baby.
What’s your service area?
LA Lactation has partnered with multiple IBCLC lactation consultants across Los Angeles to better serve you! There are office locations in Hermosa Beach, La Crescenta and Westlake Village. Home visits are available by any of the 8 IBCLCs in Los Angeles, each with their own travel area. There may be additional fees for travel depending on where you live and who you want to work with. Virtual appointments are available for FaceTime, Skype, Zoom and phone consultations any where in the world.
What are your hours?
Babies are not the best at following schedules. We will work together to find the best time for consultations, coordinating around your little one's prime feeding times. If you schedule a consultation and you think baby will want to feed a little before the scheduled time, please let us know as soon as possible as we can some times accommodate that.
What if you're not available when my baby needs seen?
If you are having a true lactation emergency and do not see a time available on the LA Lactation schedule, please email Julie directly to [email protected] to see about accommodations.
Do you take insurance?
According to the ACA, lactation services are to be covered by insurance at 100%. We are contracted with The Lactation Network (TLN)! The Lactation Network is an insurance billing company that assists with verifying your insurance to see if lactation services can be covered by your insurance plan. They handle the paperwork and bill your insurance directly. To see if your plan qualifies for billing through TLN, CLICK HERE. You will receive an email with instructions for booking.
If your insurance does not partner with TLN for billing, you can still be seen for lactation services!! While you are asked to pay for your consultation at the time of booking, you can be provided a superbill which you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. You are responsible for contacting your insurance company ahead of time to see what you need for submission. We can provide you with all of the practice information (Tax ID, license number, etc.) to ensure the highest possible reimbursement rate.
Se habla Español?
No hay problema. Si, yo hablo Español. Hay 3 IBCLCs quien hablan Español! Lorena, Angie y Julie
